I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) practicing in the state of Maine. I grew up in Massachusetts and Vermont but have called Maine home since 2007. I have an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from McGill University and a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Southern Maine.
My approach to counseling stems from dual interests in science and the arts. I love the mental health field because the work is inherently intuitive and creative, and also rooted in scientific principals and knowledge. I am fascinated by the diverse ways we each respond when confronted with challenges and seek to support innate wisdom and capacity in clients.
I am also aware of the impact social and environmental factors have on our individual and collective well-being. Racial injustice, environmental crisis, and the burdens of personal and ancestral trauma are not new, but the dysfunction they cause appears to be more awake in our collective consciousness at this time. We face great challenges and also great opportunity for restoration and healing. As we navigate these times, in our local communities and as a global village, I see my role as supporting individuals in bringing their unique resilience into their own lives and the world. I continually work to grow and evolve the viewpoints I hold so I can be a positive force in the lives of clients.
I have professional training in: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, expressive arts therapies, multicultural competency, ecotherapy and climate-aware counseling, and extensive personal experience with a variety of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation practices.
Pronouns: she/her
